Buenos Aires:
After a lot of buses and a flight with a hangglider in Tucuman, I am back in Buenos Aires! I will stay here for the last 2-3 weeks of my travel to be with Nora, catch up with some friends, arrange a lot of things for my return to Holland and maybe for some trips to nice places near here! See you soon! Dave

Potosí:
This night I arrived at Potosí (supposibly the highest city in world at 4100 metres!) at 3 am. Unfortunately there weren´t any hostelbeds available, so I spend the night sleeping in my sleeping bag on the floor of the lobby of a cheap hotel...
I got to Potosí after doing the 4 day tour of the South-West of Bolivia, a really adventurous tour, filled with volcanos, lagunas filled with flamencos, salt lakes, unpredictable weather, discomfort (also due to the altitude) and stuck vehicles. But in the end it was a great experience and the beauty of this part of the world is very hard to describe in words and hard to capture in pictures. An experience to never forget!
Now I will look around Potosí for a few days and then I will start my return to BsAs, to be with Nora and my friends over there (and I made a lot of new ones after leaving!) for a few weeks, before my return to the Netherlands. I will keep you informed! Love, Dave

Bolivia:
I crossed the border and entered Bolivia today, but until now it hasn´t been a big success. I had to wait 2,5 hours at the border, a record in my journey of more than 4 years! And I bought a tour to the salt lakes today, but later in the day (while I was already in another village, the starting point of the tour) it appeared that the tour for tomorrow is already full or will not go (a bit confusing...). Anyway, I hope we can sort it out tomorrow morning! Love, Dave

Humahuaca:
Now I am in Humahuaca, a small village in Jujuy province. I have visited several little villages in the Jujuy province the last week and it has been great, both for the places and the views as for the people I have met and the great times we had.
Tomorrow I will go to Bolivia for a week or so, if everything goes according to plan. Until next time!

Salta:
I had a great time visiting "Valle de la Luna", also because I met Mauricio, a friendly Argentinean, on the bus towards the park and he invited me to an asado with his 3 friends. It was great, but I ended up going to sleep at 4am, while I had to get up at 6am... Autch! The visit to the park was nice and the area really is quite amazing, but it might not be a big surprise that I slept about half the way... After the park I had to wait for 5 hrs next to the road, to catch a bus to the city La Rioja. From there another bus took me to Salta. In Salta I had a great time as well in the hostel and I managed to see most of the city centre and I climbed the hill next to the city for a great view. I also tried to prepare an outing to the nearby (well, 200km away, but over here that is considered "near") National Park El Rey, but I can get the transport etc. arranged. So I am going to Jujuy to visit a similar, but easier to access National Park over there. This also means I will probably be offline for a few days, so see you in a bit! Love, Dave

San Juan:
The last few days in Mendoza I spend catching up on my email and starting my search for a job in Holland (anyone, if you know a nice job in Holland, please inform me!). Today I arrived to San Juan, but I am here just to make the transfer to a small village next to the so-called "Valley of the Moon", but the first bus was full, so I had to spend a few more hours in this little and quite town. Not much to see here, so I am writing a few emails to kill the time. (Unfortunately a museum that seemed interesting to me (The museum of Natural Sciences, which als has some dinosaur leftovers) was closed as well.)
Tomorrow I will hopefully make a tour of the "Valley of the Moon" National Park and maybe another National Park nearby (if the water level drops a bit, because now the Park is closed, due to flooding!). And after that I will continue my journey North as soon as possible! Love, Dave

PS. I noticed that the pictures on the site have disappeared, but I have no idea why, so for now I don´t know how to fix it. Hopefully they will just magically appear again ;-) Below I will post a random picture, just as a test:

Mendoza:
First of all: An excellent 2007 to everyone!!! That you may all achieve your goals or just have a lot of fun, or whatever you wish for!
I arrived in Mendoza the 28th of Decembre, after spending some excellent days in Bariloche. I spend a great X-mas in a hostel over there and had a great time with all the people over there.

Also I met with Matt, a New Zealander with a Argentinean girlfriend, Ruth, and an excellent website about all his adventures, trying to live in this country. Great to meet this friendly Kiwi after reading his website for all this time!
For the New Year´s celebrations I come to Mendoza to spend them with my girlfriend Nora. We also had a great time and we really enjoyed seeing each other again! We did rafting, abseiling and a small hike, visited wine yards to taste some of the excellent wines from around this city and spend a lot of quality time together.

Unfortunately she went home yesterday and I can´t wait to go back to Buenos Aires, because I miss her. But first I will travel some more... More North, to San Juan, Salta, Jujuy and possibly a day in Bolivia (just to get the stamp ;-). Then I will make my way to Buenos Aires through the middle of the country and maybe after visiting some nice beaches, possibly in Brasil! Until next time, love from Dave!
